Kingman unites for 2025 Day of Caring

KINGMAN — The annual Day of Caring event on Saturday, April 19th, brought together more than 100 volunteers in a city-wide celebration of service, community, and civic pride.  River Cities United Way, along with the City of Kingman’s Solid Waste Department and the Clean City Commission, have been organizing this event and providing supplies for the past several years to help insure event success.

In partnership with the Day of Caring, the Clean City Commission also participates in the event by conducting an Adopt-a-Highway clean-up. The Day of Caring event focuses on revitalization and beautification efforts throughout the community.

Volunteers were provided with bags, gloves, and cleanup tools to safely and effectively tackle litter removal projects across the city.  This year’s efforts resulted in the collection of over 132 bags of trash, a visible testament to the commitment and teamwork of residents and community partners.

In addition to the downtown cleanup, the day coincided with a successful technology e-drive held at the City of Kingman Public Works parking lot.  The event was Hosted by MC4 Club with the Mohave Community College.  Over 39 vehicles dropped off e-waste, promoting responsible recycling and proper disposal of electronic waste.

“This event would not be possible without the dedication of our incredible community partners,” said Eddie Tapia, Kingman’s Solid Waste Supervisor. “We’re incredibly grateful to River Cities United Way and our sponsors for stepping up and making a real difference.”

The City of Kingman extends its deepest thanks to all supporting organizations, including:

River Cities United Way, Nucor, Geo Group, Kingman Lions Club, Kingman Main Street, Downtown Business Owners, Hope City Church, Southwest Behavioral Health, and Unisource Energy Services.

The Day of Caring continues to exemplify Kingman’s commitment to volunteerism, collaboration, and community pride.  The 2nd Day of Caring for 2025 will be held on September 20th.  For more information, please visit: https://www.rcuw.org/dayofcaring/
