Havasu resident gets ten years for child pornography

LAKE HAVASU — A Lake Havasu City resident has been given a ten-year prison sentence followed by lifetime probation in a child pornography case. The punishment Mohave County Superior Court Judge Derek Carlisle ordered during a Friday hearing in Kingman was mandated in a plea agreement for Lorin Lytle, 45.

Lytle pleaded guilty last month to sexual exploitation of a minor and three other counts reduced to attempted sexual exploitation of a minor.

Investigation began when internet monitoring organizations informed the Lake Havasu City police department that downloaded child sex abuse materials traced to Lytle and his home address. Five video files were reportedly downloaded between July 23 and August 1, 2024 and three other video files between October 12 and October 13, 2024.

Defense attorney Joseph Tobler said Lytle is remorseful and accepts responsibility, but is addicted to pornography. He told Judge Carlisle that Lytle enjoys the support of family and friends, but that he asked friends wanting to speak on his behalf to stay home.

“He is embarrassed. He’s ashamed,” Tobler said.

Deputy Mohave County attorney Karolina Czaplinska said she was a bit less demanding in punishment for Lytle because she said he possessed far less child porn material than many similarly positioned defendants. She also credited Lytle for cooperating with investigators and providing passwords enabling them to access applicable electronic accounts.
