Havasu Regional Medical Center celebrates 100th ablation procedure milestone

LAKE HAVASU – Havasu Regional Medical Center today announced that Dr. Kneller and the Havasu Heart and Vascular team successfully performed their 100th ablation procedure, marking a significant milestone in advanced cardiac care for the region.

The catheter ablation procedure, used to treat atrial fibrillation, represents a minimally invasive treatment option that helps restore normal heart rhythm by targeting specific areas of heart tissue that cause irregular heartbeats.

“The 100th ablation for atrial fibrillation is an important milestone for our program. It demonstrates the strong need for this advanced cardiac procedure in Lake Havasu City and throughout Mohave County,” said Dr. Kneller.

Richard Bergmann, Chief Operating Officer at Havasu Regional Medical Center, praised the achievement and Dr. Kneller’s impact on the community.

“Dr. Kneller is a highly accomplished and highly respected physician who brought this needed service to Lake Havasu City and to the region for the first time. Patients no longer need to drive for hours out of town. They can now be cared for close to home,” Bergmann said.

Lou Jones, director of cardiovascular services, reflected on the milestone’s significance for patients.

“We are proud to have helped restore 100 heart rhythms – one patient at a time,” Jones said.

Atrial fibrillation is the most common type of irregular heartbeat, affecting millions of Americans. The condition can lead to blood clots, stroke, heart failure and other heart-related complications if left untreated.

The achievement underscores Havasu Regional Medical Center’s commitment to providing sophisticated cardiac care services to residents of Lake Havasu City and the broader Mohave County area, reducing the need for patients to travel to larger metropolitan areas for specialized treatment.

Havasu Regional Medical Center continues to expand its cardiovascular services to meet the growing healthcare needs of the community.
