Gallego leading for U.S. Senate seat

Arizona Congressman Ruben Gallego is one of the rare Democrats winning or leading important state races as vote counting continues in the Grand Canyon state. Gallego has a lead of more than 60,000 votes (1,107,836-1,047,792) over Republican Kari Lake in Arizona’s U.S. senate contest.

District 9 Congressman Paul Gosar is handily defeating democratic challenger Quacy Smith with more than 66% (176,168-89,125) of the vote.

Republicans sweep state legislative seats in northwest Arizona. Leo Biasiucci and John Gillette win re-election with with Mohave County supervisor Hildy Angius joining them as state senator in Dist. 30.

Angius breezed by Democrat J’aime MorgAine with almost 79% (75,345-20,446) of ballots tabulated by Wednesday.

Arizona voters are approving Proposition 139. The fundamental right to abortion measure is passing with almost 62% support (132,449-818,414).

Proposition 140, the proposed primary election reform measure, is being rejected by 59% (1,215,932-843,349) of the Arizona electorate.
