Concrete truck struck a telecommunications line, snapped powerpole

BULLHEAD CITY, AZ – On Tuesday, July 2 at 11:20 a.m., 49 Mohave Electric Cooperative (MEC) members in Bullhead City experienced an outage. A concrete truck struck a telecommunications line on Terra Loma Drive causing a pole to snap, tearing down power lines, and sending the pole crashing into a residence.

Crews isolated the broken primary pole at 3795 Terra Loma Drive and replaced a fuse, restoring power to 45 of the 49 members at 12:30 p.m. The additional four members’ power was restored at 4:40 p.m. once crews replaced the damaged pole, guy wires, and anchors.

Outage restoration is important to Mohave Electric Cooperative. Please remember, there are many ways to report an outage. You can call our toll-free line at 1-844-632-2667, text “outage” to 55050 from a number linked to your MEC account or use our SmartHub® application on your mobile device to report the outage. You can also track outages on our website at: https://www.mohaveelectric.com/outage-center/
