KINGMAN – The City of Kingman Parks and Recreation Department invites the community to attend the ribbon cutting ceremony for the new wind phone installation on Friday, June 12, at 10 a.m. at the White Cliffs Trail System South Trailhead, located off Fourth Street in downtown Kingman.
The Wind Phone is an interactive public art installation designed to provide visitors with a quiet and private space to “speak into the wind.” Located at a scenic overlook within the trail system, the space encourages reflection, remembrance, and connection. Visitors may use the space to honor loved ones, share hopes and dreams, or express thoughts left unspoken.
This project was made possible through a collaborative partnership between the City of Kingman Parks and Recreation Department and the Kingman Main Street organization, which generously donated the Wind Phone installation to the community. The Wind Phone itself has been hand-painted by local artist Emily Halber-Reno and features artwork inspired by native desert plants, helping create a peaceful and meaningful environment for visitors.
The City of Kingman Parks and Recreation Department encourages residents and visitors alike to attend and experience this unique new addition to the White Cliffs Trail System. Community members attending the ribbon cutting ceremony will be able to enjoy light snacks, bottled water, and commemorative stickers while learning more about the project and its purpose within the community.
