Dear Editor, I’ve been a bicycle rider my whole life. Fifty years ago, this month I was riding my bike about six miles round trip to Bible school at Tomahawk, Kentucky. I did so for an entire week. During the week I was one of several young people who prayed the prayer to receive Christ. Dear Editor, The LMRFD is supported by a few thousand taxpayers in Dolan Springs and Meadview. Its two-personnel cover fire and EMS service for a 3300 sq. mi. area, including 100+ miles of State Hwy and county roads servicing traffic to the Grand Canyon Skywalk. Taxpayers are frequently left with no fire or EMS coverage while their ambulance runs calls on Highway 93. It is essential that the LMRFD include volunteers on its roster for any hope of fire or EMS service for those who foot the bill! There must be funding included for volunteer training/support.
