Reader believes American way is being destroyed

Dear Editor, Watching every day the disgusting behavior of the riots and the people in these cities who are allowing the death and destruction of our society is heart wrenching. I don’t know how people who want socialism can be so ignorant to the damage they are asking for. Perhaps they should go to another country like China and do this over there. Using our Constitution for their cause to destroy America is just plain ignorant. How ignorant to vote for Biden or anyone pushing the socialist agenda that promises to have an outcome of pure hate and destruction. How…

Valle Vista votes for new board

Dear Editor, We have a chance to get Valle Vista back on the right track. Five board members will be seated after the next election. Choose carefully and vote for those who will follow and enforce our community documents. Our governing documents include the Arizona Revised Statutes (ARS 33-16 and other applicable statutes), Valle Vista Property Owners Association (VVPOA) Articles of Incorporation, Covenants, Limitations and Restrictions (CLRs) and By Laws. The board needs to follow the book the same way as the rest of us do. Our governing documents and rules apply to everyone living in this community including property…

Biden and Trump – does age matter?

Dear Editor, John F. Kennedy was 43 years old when he was elected to serve as President of the United States in 1960. His age did not hurt him on election day. Barack Obama was 47 years old when he became President of the United States in 2008. His age, skin color and limited number of years that he had served in the United States Senate did not hurt him when it came to election day. Donald Trump was 70 years old when he was elected in November, 2016 as President of the United States. He had never held a…

Life with Trump looking grim

Dear Editor, I have difficulty understanding how a segment of the population is so against any form of socialism, and yet actually support a politician who, it seems, would like to become an autocratic leader of this nation. He is lauded as the next coming, radio hosts hype him, people vote for him, and send money to make sure he remains in power. This they idolize, yet they detest and abhor anything smacking of universal health care. When Trump was interviewed by Chris Wallace he was asked directly if he would accept election results if he did not win. Trump…

Push for cultured meat research

Dear Editor, The Farm System Reform Act — a bill championed by Cory Booker, which would ban factory farms — should include funding for cultured-meat research. For those who don’t know, cultured meat is grown from cells, without slaughtering animals. This technology would ameliorate many problems the Farm System Reform Act seeks to address. Most obviously, cultured meat resolves concerns about animal welfare, as animals aren’t involved in the process. But it would also benefit human health and the environment. Cultured meat is produced in a sterile environment and doesn’t require artificial growth hormones or unnecessary antibiotics. It requires a…

Who are you going to support?

Dear Editor, Once again a letter writer raises my ire. Hopefully this country is evolving, by looking back at a past where slave ownership was acceptable, and black individuals or women could not vote. In order to emphatically right these wrongs Constitutional Amendments 13, 15, and 19 were added. Today there seems to be a vocal segment of the population which is opposed to same sex marriage, transgender rights, and a woman’s right to reproductive choice. To those individuals, I would ask how your life has been unfavorably impacted by the last three mentioned? For example, how has Ellen DeGeneres’…
