The enemy within

Dear Editor: As I sit here and watch and listen to the House proceedings to impeach President Trump I am overwhelmed with a deep, insidious sick feeling in my gut and cosmic disturbance in my being. If there was ever any breach of conscience, common sense, honor, dignity or law, we are seeing it now being displayed without shame by the corrupt Washington Establishment. Oh doesn’t Pelosi look as if she is in her most glorious “High” Chair Woman Moment with her blue dress and matching designer mask. If the American people wanted to see sharks in frenzy they would…

No class in defeat

Dear Editor, The “Trump supporter who warns of liberal communists” feels it is delusional to think Hillary Clinton displayed grace in loss, as a writer implies. I would ask you to give u your opinion of Trump’s behavior in loss especially the 6th of January uprising which Trump orchestrated and initially refused to intervene, until he finally was persuaded he said to the crowed, “go home in peace” only after repeating the lie, “I won … the election was stolen.” Earlier, while listening to Limbaugh and Gorka on the radio, I heard Antifa mentioned several times, however the television coverage…

MCSC is ill-conceived

Dear Editor, The pending proposal to the Mohave County Board of Supervisors to designate Mohave County a Constitutional Sanctuary County (MCSC) is not simply redundant, since we live in a nation governed by a Constitution, but also absurdly ill-conceived. This proposed declaration appears to be based upon a group of citizens whose goal is to monitor governmental overreach and is currently focused on COVID19 restrictions. Their contention is that current restrictions regarding COVID19 violate their constitutionally guaranteed rights. I ask ’what about other’s rights to continue to live? Are these people’s right to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness…

Please, Stop the Violence

Dear Editor, Acts of violence against a marriage partner have never saved a marriage. Violent acts toward family members have never made a family happier. Typically, they create emotional and sometimes physical wounds that are never forgotten. Too many families have suffered because someone in the family became violent.  Violence in our communities and towns always results in pain, division and sometimes even loss of life. Violence typically brings the wrong people together to do bad things. No community, city or state needs this.  In times of war or enemy aggression against our United States, violence has been necessary. Acts…

Women Making History event cancelled

Dear Editor, After careful consideration, the steering committee of Kingman Women Making History has made a very difficult decision.  The March event to honor Kingman Women Making History has been canceled.  We have every intention of holding the event in 2022. We are choosing to be respectful of the public and the health and safety of all participants and guests.  Normally this event brings an excess of 200 people.  We feel a deep responsibility to past winners and future recipients to be respectful of their well being.   In these challenging times the committee wishes to focus on the positive.  For…
