KINGMAN – The Northern Arizona Fire District invites everyone to its June 16 open house for its new district headquarters, Fire Station 31. Staff and equipment have vacated the older Station 31 a couple of blocks away and relocated within the much larger and improved facility at 2600 Northern Ave. Governing Board Chairman Jim Bailey said firefighters won’t miss the former Station 31, an antiquated, rat infested facility with poor access. The District purchased the nearby 12,000 sq. ft. Fire Station 31 building for roughly $500,000 more than a decade ago and another $1.2-million in renovations put the station in service….

KINGMAN – Steve Gaynor, President of Fair Maps Arizona (FMA) addressed the Republican Women regarding the IRC (Independent Redistricting Commission) on Monday, June 7, 2021 at their regular meeting. Gaynor advised the group that Arizona is only one of a few states that use an IRC to redraw its congressional and legislative district maps.  The lines are redrawn every 10 years based on data from the recently completed U.S. Census. United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) Deputy Under Secretary for Rural Development Justin Maxson today unveiled a resource guide to help rural community leaders start and expand employment opportunities and access resources to train, recruit and create a sustainable rural workforce.      “America’s rural workforce is critical to the success of the nation’s economy,” Maxson said. “As USDA continues to respond to the COVID-19 pandemic and help restore the economy, we remain committed to helping rural employers build back America’s rural workforce to be better, stronger and more equitable than ever before.” The resource guide outlines programs and services available at USDA…

The Northern Arizona Fire District is pleased to announce the Grand Opening of the new Fire Station 31 and Fire Administration Office. A Ribbon Cutting Ceremony followed by an Open House are scheduled for June 16 from noon  to 2:00 p.m. Members of the public and media are encouraged to come by and meet their NAFD firefighters and tour the new facility.
