KINGMAN – A Kingman woman is going to the Arizona Department of Corrections after pleading guilty in the abuse of her two teenagers, one who died and the other who was placed in care of the state following the discovery of her discarded brother’s body in early 2022. Amber-Leah Valentine, 42, pleaded guilty Monday, Dec. 18 to separate counts of felony child abuse by domestic violence. Defense attorney Jaimye Ashley told Judge Billy Sipe that Valentine’s roommates abused her children, but that she was accepting responsibility for negligence in placing them in a dangerous environment. Pickleball Jingle fundraiser gives back to New Horizons

LAKE HAVASU CITY – The Pickleball Jingle tournament had everyone smiling Tuesday, Dec. 12 as the Lake Havasu Pickleball Association (LHCPBA) served their way into giving back to those in need. LHCPBA was created to support the growing interest in the pickleball sport in Lake Havasu. As a group, they organize clinics, drills, and charity tournaments. LHCPBA works regularly with the city to coordinate developments for pickleball facilities. In February 2023, the association was successful in completing four additional courts in Dick Samp Memorial Park, making it the 16-court complex that it is today.
