Burge named Citizen of the Month

Krystal Burge (shown with Rotarian Tom Clark) was presented with Kingman Route 66 Rotary Club’s January Citizen of the Month award at the club’s January 4th meeting. Burge is very active in the Kingman community, currently serving as Kingman Regional Medical Center (KRMC) Board Chair, Arizona Hospital and Healthcare Association (AzHHA) Board Member, Federal Reserve Bank of San Francisco Advisory Council Member, St. John’s Church Council Board Chair, St. John’s Preschool Board Chair, Mission Bank Board Chair, Southwest KFC Franchisees Board Member, Historic Route 66 Association of Arizona President, Cornerstone Mission Board of Directors, Women Making History Chair, Past President of Soroptimist International of Kingman and Past President of Kingman Area Chamber of Commerce. Krystal approaches her volunteer efforts with the same enthusiasm and dedication as she does anything she takes on as a project.

LAKE HAVASU CITY – In an effort to maintain the water distribution system, Lake Havasu City Water Division announces the closure of Swanson Ave. from Magnolia Dr. to Capri Blvd. The roadway will be closed to through traffic on Swanson Ave. from 9:00 pm Sunday, January 21, 2024, until 6:00 a.m. Monday, January 22, 2024, subject to weather and other conditions. Motorists are encouraged to find alternate routes, allow themselves extra travel time and follow all construction signage.

Katie Hobbs has vowed to bring accountability to a school voucher program that’s expected to top $900 million this year and update laws that allow for the nearly unfettered use of groundwater in rural areas of the drought-stricken state. Knox named to Dean’s List

Kaya S. Knox of Bullhead City has been named to the Dean’s List at Jacksonville State University for their outstanding academic performance over the Fall 2023 semester. To be named to the Dean’s List, students must earn a 3.5-3.99 GPA for the semester while completing at least 12 GPA hours of course credit.
