Mohave Community Orchestra will host its Spring Festival Concert Saturday, April 13, at 3:00 p.m. at Kingman High School, 4182 Bank St., Kingman. Suggested donation is $10 for families and $5 for adults. For information call 928-753-3902.
The Kathryn Heidenreich Adult Center (KHAC) will feature All the King’s Men (1949) at its monthly Movie Night on Friday, April 26 beginning at 6 p.m. A $2 donation is suggested. The film, starring Broderick Crawford and John Ireland, details the rise and fall of a corrupt politician who makes his friends richer and retains power by force of a populist appeal. Steve Conn will provide historical and behind-the-scenes commentary before the movie begins. Popcorn, snacks, and beverages will be available for purchase. At its March 22 meeting, Kingman Route 66 Rotary Club had as its featured speaker Linda Williams, Kingman Regional Medical Center Pharmacist. Williams spoke on Kingman’s upcoming “Day in the Park”, scheduled for Saturday, April 13 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Centennial Park. This free event promotes healthy living by encouraging participants to walk the path at Centennial Park and along the way to visit vendor booths for tips and information about health and wellness in our community. Included will be live fitness demonstrations, raffles and prizes for participants.
The Kathryn Heidenreich Adult Center (KHAC) will host its monthly dinner on Thursday, April 11 beginning at 4 p.m. until the food is gone. Suggested donation is $6.50 and goes toward the center’s no-charge programs. This month’s menu is ham, potato salad, raisin sauce or pineapple, French-style green beans, deviled eggs, dinner rolls, beverage, and dessert. Dessert is provided by Beacon of Hope Hospice. Dear Editor, I have been suffering from shortness of breath and minor heart issues attributed to this making my heart slow or stop beating. This has caused me to be hospitalized at KRMC several times over the past 12 months, having three stints put in and a pacemaker. Again, Tuesday morning, I was fighting severely for breath and plummeting blood pressure, so I made my way to the ER at KRMC approximately 8:30 a.m. where I was quickly taken to an exam room and a staff of professionals examined me. The National Park Service has completed the Environmental Assessment, required under the National Environmental Policy Act, for a General Management Plan Amendment to address low-water conditions at Lake Mead. A Finding of No Significant Impact was signed March 13, which allows the park to address operational needs to maintain lake access and provide safe and diverse recreational opportunities at lake elevations above 950 feet.
