MOHAVE COUNTY – Mohave County is implementing outdoor fire and permissible consumer fireworks use prohibitions on private and public lands in the unincorporated areas of the county, effective 8 a.m., Wednesday, July 24, 2019, due to the very high fire danger caused by extremely dry vegetation, lack of monsoon precipitation, and a significant increase in recent fire ignitions and fire service responses. The Mohave County Board of Supervisors has issued Stage 2 fire restrictions within the entire county. Based on this direction, the City of Kingman is instituting a fire burn ban effective immediately. The ban includes the prohibition of the sale of consumer fireworks as addressed in House Bill 1158. The ban also resends any open burn permits issued by the city of Kingman within the last 30 days. No burn permit applications will be accepted until further notice.

PHOENIX — The Arizona Game and Fish Department will hold multiple life jacket exchange events at area lakes Saturday, July 27 and Aug. 3. Now in its 11th year, the Life Jacket Exchange program allows people with an old, worn out life jacket to swap it for a new one (while supplies last).
