HRMC Celebrates 20th anniversary of LifePoint Health with donation to LHCFD

This month, Havasu Regional Medical Center is celebrating the 20th anniversary of LifePoint Health, the health system of which it is a part, with a donation to the Lake Havasu City Fire Department. This donation is part of a national anniversary celebration in which LifePoint has contributed $2,000 to causes in each of the 89 communities it serves nationwide. Study published on quagga mussels in the southwestern United States

Quagga mussels have infested the southwestern United States after being first identified in Lake Mead in 2007. Since then the species has spread throughout the Colorado River, from Lake Powell to Imperial Dam. To help inform control and management strategies, Reclamation and the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers recently published a scientific paper “Patterns of Genetic Structure Among Invasive Southwestern United States Quagga Mussel (Dreissena rostriformis bugensis) Populations” in The Southwestern Naturalist.  “The intended results of control measures may be impacted by the information learned from this study on population genetic structure,” co-author Sherri Pucherelli said. “While we learned a…

Olson arrested on numerous drug charges

An investigation of suspected heroin sales from a residence in Lake Havasu City culminated in a seizure and arrest on Wednesday. Police Detective Chris Angus said officers effected a traffic stop after the target of the investigation, Jacob Olson, 21, drove from the suspect residence in the 2600 block of Tanglewood Place. Olson was taken into custody for five previous heroin sales. Angius said officers found Olson to be concealing more than 19 grams of heroin when he was being detained at the police jail facility. KRMC announces security incident involving its public website

Kingman Regional Medical Center (KRMC) announced today that it is mailing letters to some patients whose information may have been involved in a recent incident involving the KRMC website. On April 8, 2019, KRMC was notified that there was a possible security problem with its public website. KRMC immediately shut down the website and began to investigate. A leading third party forensic firm was hired to assist in the investigation. The forensic firm determined that the configuration of the website made it possible for unauthorized person(s) to view some information entered into the website by KRMC customers. Kingman City Council approves preliminary budget; discuss fee waivers

The Kingman City Council has preliminarily approved the proposed budget for the next fiscal year. Tentative adoption of the budget June 4 means that it can go no higher, though adjustments within the spending plan can occur before final approval by the Council. Financial Services Director Tina Moline said the general fund totals $34.5-million, about 63% of that dedicated to police and fire operations. She said a $47-million earmark for the Interstate 11 East Kingman Connection initiative highlights the capital project list.
