Man dies after crashing truck

A Kingman man has died of injuries sustained in a Friday night traffic accident. The victim is identified as Charlie Gross, 36. Deputy Kingman Police Chief Rusty Cooper said investigators determined that Gross was northbound on Cantle Drive when he failed to negotiate a curve and the Ford F-250 truck he was operating struck a block wall at the intersection of Gordon Drive and Gordon Bay at about 11:00 p.m.  “Speed and alcohol are believed to be factors in the crash,” Cooper said. MOHAVE COUNTY – Mohave County is implementing outdoor fire and permissible consumer fireworks use prohibitions on private and public lands in the unincorporated areas of the county, effective 8 a.m., Wednesday, July 24, 2019, due to the very high fire danger caused by extremely dry vegetation, lack of monsoon precipitation, and a significant increase in recent fire ignitions and fire service responses. Sloan allegedly stabbed man

A weekend stabbing is under investigation in Bullhead City. Police Department spokeswoman Emily Fromelt said the agency learned of the incident about 1:30 a.m. Sunday. “It was reported that Theresa Ann Sloan, 28, stabbed a male multiple times in the back with a knife,” Fromelt said. “The victim ran into Circle K, 1000 block of highway 95, yelling that he had been stabbed by his roommate.” Fromelt said the victim was transported to a local hospital before he was flown to Sunrise Hospital in Las Vegas. City of Kingman issues burn ban

The Mohave County Board of Supervisors has issued Stage 2 fire restrictions within the entire county. Based on this direction, the City of Kingman is instituting a fire burn ban effective immediately. The ban includes the prohibition of the sale of consumer fireworks as addressed in House Bill 1158. The ban also resends any open burn permits issued by the city of Kingman within the last 30 days. No burn permit applications will be accepted until further notice.
