It’s that time of year again… congested morning traffic, school buses stopping frequently and kids scattered through crosswalks. It’s “back-to-school” next week and the Bullhead City Police Department would like to start off the new school year safely. Over the summer, motorists have been used to driving the normal speed limit, but people need to be aware of the change. Children will be excited getting to and from school while using the intersections and crosswalks, so drivers should watch the road carefully for pedestrians and kids on bicycles. The Bullhead City Police Department has received several complaints about a Social Security phone scam. People have reported receiving phone calls from scam artists claiming to be from the Social Security Administration. The caller tries to obtain personal information or money by using threats, such as stopping social security checks. Computer room donations sought

KINGMAN – The Kathryn Heidenreich Adult Center (KHAC) computer room needs an update to protect seniors and the equipment. Uninterrupted power supplies and a cable containment system would make a huge improvement. This room is also used by the tax preparers and Area Agency on Aging Medicare Questions and Insurance Counseling to assist seniors. Donations are being sought for this improvement so the center can continue to give back to the community. The goal for this improvement is $800.
