As part of the ongoing pavement preservation effort to keep the roads and parking lots in good condition, Lake Havasu City is fog sealing the SARA Park Trailhead and Cypress Park parking lots, as well as, applying new asphalt in front of Cypress Park on Cypress Drive, Thursday and Friday this week. Vehicular access to the SARA Park Trail parking lot will be closed on Thursday, August 1, and the Cypress Park parking lot and adjacent roadway will be closed on Friday August 2, for the sealing process. Conservative Republican Club of Kingman’s next meeting is on Monday, August 12 at 11:15 a.m. at the Dambar Steakhouse, 1960 E. Andy Devine Avenue.  They will be having the Head of the Trump-2020 in Arizona Committee, Mr. Drew Sexton, as their guest speaker. The meeting costs a measly $3, with lunch optional and on ones own. One does not have to be a member to come to the meeting, guests are welcomed and encouraged. No reservations are necessary and dress is casual.

KINGMAN – The Kathryn Heidenreich Adult Center (KHAC) will host their monthly movie night on Friday, Aug. 23 beginning at 6 p.m. This month’s featured movie is “To Have and Have Not” from 1944, starring Humphrey Bogart, Lauren Bacall, and Walter Brennan. Steve Conn will provide historical and behind-the-scenes commentary before the movie starts. Family and friends are welcome. A $2 donation per person benefits KHAC’s various programs. These are just some of the many UniSource (UNS Electric – Mohave) employees who opened their hearts and pocketbooks to help children in our community. Executive Assistant at UNS Electric, Amy Mote, front center in photo, has rallied the employees together every year since the inception of Mission Bank’s school supply drive to purchase and donate supplies! This year these wonderful people donated FIVE huge bins (including the bins) full of supplies!!

KINGMAN – The Kingman Kut Ups will host square dancing at the Kathryn Heidenreich Adult Center from 7 to 9:30 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 10 and Saturday, Aug. 24. Club caller for the Aug. 10 dance is Darrel Newell; guest caller for the Aug. 24 dance is Vern Vernazzarro. KINGMAN – The Kingman Master Gardeners will host a free workshop on Wednesday, Aug. 7 from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Mohave County Extension Office, 101 E. Beale St. Topics include the do’s and don’ts for fall clean up winter veggies and what to grow in Kingman, and how the enter the Mohave County Fair. The workshop is free and open to the public. Seating is on a first come, first served basis.
