LAKE HAVASU CITY – The Bureau of Land Management’s Lake Havasu Field Office invites the public to celebrate the 26th annual National Public Lands Day Saturday, October 26. Volunteers will participate in a variety of outdoor projects from 8 a.m. until noon at Take Off Point Recreation Area along Lake Havasu. In an effort to enhance communities and improve public lands, projects will include painting railings and fishing piers, kiosk repairs, power washing, weed removal and general clean up. Probation search finds meth, paraphernalia

KINGMAN – Mohave County Sheriff’s Office deputies arrested Johnny Earl Burks, 46, of Golden Valley, for dangerous drug possession and drug paraphernalia possession, both felonies. On Saturday, October 5, deputies were called to a residence in the 4400 block of Willow Rd. to assist Mohave County Probation with a search. Burks was suspected of being in possession of a firearm and had allegedly made threats against another person. Deputies found Burks hiding in a closet. The alleged weapon was not found, however a search of Burks’s backpack revealed approximately two grams of methamphetamine.

LAKE MEAD – In the days leading up to the 2019 WON Bass US Open on Lake Mead, the weather did anything but cooperate. Sign inventory being conducted in Kingman

KINGMAN – Over the next few months, the City of Kingman has consulted with DBi services to complete a traffic sign inventory. This will use a specialized vehicle that will drive up and down each street using LIDAR detection to capture all traffic signs. Additional crews will stop at each traffic sign individually and place a etroreflectometer to each sign for a reading. This is being done on an HSIP grant fully funded and administered by ADOT. KINGMAN – The Third Annual Kingman Historic Ghost Walk tours will be held in downtown Kingman Thursday through Saturday, Oct. 24 through 26. The tours start at 7:30 p.m. every half hour with the last one leaving at 9 p.m. Tours start at the ArtHub, 402 E. Beale St. Tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for kids ages five through 11, and can be purchased at bealestreettheater.com or at the ArtHub.
