Tobacco use presentation at Rotary

Speaking at Kingman Route 66 Rotary Club’s November 22 meeting was Mohave County Community Health Educator Specialist Senior Supervisor and Rotarian Susan Williams (shown with club president Karen Brown). Williams presented a power point presentation on tobacco use. Between 1965 and 2018 tobacco use in the U.S. dropped from 42% to 13.7% while in Mohave County it dropped from 29% in 2011 to 20% in 2018. E-cigarette use among high school students surged from 11.7% in 2017 to 20.8% in 2018. Monthly dinner is Dec. 12

Grant will be used to rehabilitate Kingman airport

City offices closed for holiday

MOHAVE COUNTY– City offices in Kingman, Bullhead City, and Lake Havasu City will be closed in observance of the Thanksgiving Holiday, Thursday, November 28 and Friday, 29. In addition, there will be no residential or commercial trash service in Kingman Thursday, November 28. Thursday customers should put their cans out one day early, Wednesday, November 27; Friday customers will not be affected. Recycling drop site closed Sundays starting in December-

KINGMAN – Beginning December 1, the centralized recycling drop site, located at the Kingman Public Works Department, 3700 East Andy Devine Avenue, will be closed on Sundays. The new drop off hours will be 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Monday through Friday and 7 a.m. to noon Saturday. Public works members are on-hand to help people drop off the correct items for recycling during those hours.
