Wilma C. Woody celebrated her 99th birthday at her home with friends and family. Three great-grandchildren were there to celebrate with her. The oldest of three, Hayleigh Kanthack turned 15 on the same day.

MOHAVE COUNTY – Late Tuesday afternoon, the Mohave County Health Department (MCDPH) Nursing staff was notified of 27 new COVID-19 cases. Six cases are in the Bullhead City service area; seven are in the Kingman service area; 13 are in the Lake Havasu City service area; one is in the North County area. KINGMAN – Charges against an ex-con who allegedly pointed a replica weapon at Black Lives Matters protesters have been upgraded by the Mohave County Attorneys office. Robert Fernandes, 43, Kingman, was arrested by officers just a few blocks away from the June 2 protest at Locomotive Park. Fernandes was originally booked into the Mohave County Adult Detention Center on single count aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and disorderly conduct charges. Deputy County Attorney Kellen Marlow filed an amended complaint in Kingman Justice Court that charges Fernandes with five counts of aggravated assault through use of a simulated deadly weapon….

KINGMAN – Possessing 2.5 ounces of methamphetamine will result in a trip to the Arizona Department of Corrections for a Golden Valley resident. Timothy Shaddy, 38, entered a plea agreement on June 4. Prosecutor Jonathon Robinson told the Court that Shaddy was westbound when the vehicle he was driving was stopped on Route 66 just outside Kingman on February 16. He said discovery of a meth pipe in plain view established probable cause to search the vehicle from which 69 grams of meth, baggies, a digital scale and a weapon were confiscated. LAKE HAVASU CITY – Lake Havasu City is again reminding political candidates and property owners that political signs must conform to local zoning ordinances. Political signs are allowed on private property and are allowed in all zoning districts, but there are limitations on where they may be placed. Political signs placed in the public rights-of-way may be placed sixty days prior to the election and all political signs in the right-of-way must be removed within fifteen days after the election to which they refer.
