Drugs, cash, weapons seized in bust

LAKE HAVASU CITY – Authorities seized drugs, cash and weapons and arrested three men in Lake Havasu City last Friday. The activity marked the culmination of a two-month long investigation by police, the MAGNET narcotics task force and the federal Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms. The operation focused on a subject who legally purchased firearms on repeated occasions before trading weapons to prohibited possessors for drugs. MCC giving students 100% of CARES Act funding

Mohave Community College will receive more than $1.9M as part of the federal government’s Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security (CARES) Act funding.  Although the college is only required to distribute half of the money directly to students, the college will give all of it to MCC students. “We feel that distributing this money evenly among as many eligible MCC students as possible will have the most powerful positive impact on them and our communities during this crisis,” said MCC President Dr. Stacy Klippenstein. Fire claims mobile home

KINGMAN – More than two dozen firefighters battled windy conditions Monday when fire engulfed a Kingman mobile home. Kingman firefighters responded at 5:25 p.m. to the fire in the area of N. Fourth Street and Windsor Avenue. Assistant Fire Chief Keith Eaton said first arriving fire personnel found a fully involved, vacant mobile home. He said crews mounted an aggressive attack because wind caused the fire to spread to other structures on the property. “KFD Command struck a second alarm activating the Mohave County Mutual Aid pact.
