LAKE HAVASU CITY – Due to the continued increase of confirmed COVID-19 cases across Mohave County and Lake Havasu City, Lake Havasu City is strongly encouraging our residents and visitors to avoid going out, stay home, wear a face covering and distance yourself from others, whenever possible.
At Thursday’s press conference Governor Ducey asked all Arizonans to take every step possible to reverse current trends statewide.
Mohave County and Lake Havasu City are starting to see an increase in confirmed COVID-19 cases in citizens that are younger. This illustrates the virus is spreading throughout our community. We strongly urge that residents and visitors mask up and wear a face covering when unable to physically distance. Face coverings can be useful in slowing the spread of the virus.
This voluntary measure can help reduce the risk for your friends, family and especially for those most vulnerable in our community. When a citizens chooses to wear a mask or face covering, they are doing it to protect our community. We must all do our part to educate one another and slow the spread.
“I’m asking that we come together as a community and educate one another on the need to mask up. By working together we can slow the spread of the virus and safely continue to resume our activities and continue to reopen Lake Havasu City,” said Mayor, Cal Sheehy.
Our visitors will not wear mask unless it’s mandatory and it needs to be mandatory for Lake Havasu because of the Visitors that use our lake and crowd our stores, please consider our needs too
