Burn ban issued for Mohave County

MOHAVE COUNTY – The Mohave County Board of Supervisors has issued Stage 2 fire restrictions within the entire county. Based on this direction, the City of Kingman is instituting a fire burn ban effective immediately. The ban includes the prohibition of the sale of consumer fireworks as addressed in House Bill 1158. The ban also resends any open burn permits issued by the city of Kingman within the last 30 days. No burn permit applications will be accepted until further notice.

Fired fire chief earns case dismissal

DOLAN SPRINGS – Charges are dismissed in the criminal case against the former chief of a Dolan Springs-based fire district who was arrested last month after an argument with his wife and a fight with her teenage son. Deputy Mohave County Attorney Phillip Delgado said alleged victims did not wish Timothy Bonnee to be prosecuted. Charges against Bonnee were formally dismissed during a May 19 hearing in Kingman Justice Court. “We believe it’s in the best interest of justice not to pursue the case,” Delgado said a few days after dismissing charges. Waterway enforcement will be in effect over holiday weekend

MOHAVE COUNTY – The Mohave County Sheriff’s Office (MCSO) Division of Boating Safety will be deploying patrol watercraft along the Colorado River and Lake Havasu this Memorial Day weekend, from the Bullhead City limits to the Parker Dam. Boating units will be enforcing Arizona law, while also educating, and assisting boaters. Emphasis will be placed on reckless operation, safety violations, and alcohol violations.
