Wilson promoted to sergeant

Mohave County Sheriff’s Office recently celebrated the promotion of John Wilson to the rank of Sergeant. He has demonstrated that he has the knowledge, experience, and tenure to act as a supervisor and lead others. John Wilson is recognized as a valuable member of the agency. Wilson started his career with the Mohave County Sheriff’s Office in August 2001. Wilson is a Boating Safety Officer, high risk stop instructor, driving instructor, and is currently a K9 handler in the Mohave Valley/ Fort Mohave.

Meth dealer gets five years

KINGMAN – Kingman women charged in unrelated drug cases made separate appearances in Mohave County Superior Court Tuesday, Nov. 10. Mohave County Superior Court Judge Doug Camacho ordered a five-year prison sentence for Amber Copsey, 25. Copsey was credited for the 409 days she has been in custody awaiting trial. Copsey occupied a vehicle from which officers seized about 12 ounces of methamphetamine following a Sept. 27, 2019 traffic stop in the 3400 block of Stockton Hill Road. “That is an enormous amount of methamphetamine to dump into our community,” Judge Lambert said. Northwest Arizona residents can enjoy marijuana, in certain circumstances, without fear of prosecution. Kingman Airport: Hays alleges fund diversion

KINGMAN – Carl Hays has alleged illegal diversion of Kingman Airport revenue as he resigned his position as member and Chairman of the Kingman Airport Advisory Commission. Hays’ Oct. 28 resignation letter came after he previously sided with exiting Airport Manager Steve Johnston while criticizing management and leadership at City Hall. City manager Ron Foggin fired back last month claiming that Hays was overstepping his advisory role as a commissioner and improperly involving himself in airport operations.
