COLORADO CITY — A rare shooting death in the north Mohave County community of Colorado City has resulted in a 5-year prison term for James Nielsen of St. George, Utah. The punishment was stipulated in a plea agreement convicting the 28-year-old defendant of manslaughter in the death almost a year ago of Travis Cooke in Cooke’s home at 480 Lauritzen Street in Colorado City.
COLORADO CITY — Most Mohave County child pornography possession defendants enter plea agreements to spare themselves the harsh punishment consequences mandated under Arizona law for such crimes in the instance of conviction. But Jerry Black rolled the dice, took his case to trial, was found guilty of all counts, and now faces at least a century behind bars.

KINGMAN – An eight-year prison term has been imposed for a Kingman man who faces the possibility of additional prosecution in a child pornography case. James Lummel, 63, was sentenced March 26 by Mohave County Superior Court Judge Lee Jantzen.
LAKE HAVASU CITY – A California man who transported drugs to sell in Lake Havasu City was sentenced to the Arizona Department of Corrections on his 53rd birthday.
KINGMAN – A Kingman man will serve lifetime probation following 12 years in the Arizona Department of Corrections for repetitive sex offenses involving a minor. Mohave County Superior Court Judge Lee Jantzen sentenced Gary Walters, 55, on March 26.
