MOHAVE COUNTY – Bullhead City last week celebrated the career of newly-retired police chief Brian Williamson. Manager Toby Cotter told Bullhead City council members that the police department is in good hands with longtime Capt. Carroll pleads to multiple drug cases

LAKE HAVASU CITY – A local judge has broad discretion with regard to punishment of a Lake Havasu City man who is resolving separate drug cases through a plea agreement. 40-year-old Jamie Carroll pleaded guilty Tuesday to possession of dangerous drugs and possession of narcotic drugs. Prosecutor Doug Camacho said the convictions trace to seizures of almost nine grams of methamphetamine and four hydrocodone pills. Murder arrest in Bullhead City following shooting

BULLHEAD CITY – A Bullhead City man has been jailed for first degree murder in the shooting death of his grandmother’s best friend. Police Department spokeswoman Emily Fromelt said the victim Katherine Louise Humula, 74, was rushed to Western Arizona Regional Medical Center at 3:40 p.m. Sunday following the shooting in the 1100 block of Zircon. Humula died Sunday evening after she was flown to a Las Vegas hospital for treatment of her injuries. BULLHEAD CITY – An attempted homicide investigation is underway in Bullhead City. Police Department spokeswoman Emily Fromelt said a woman was shot Sunday afternoon in the 1100 block of Zircon Road. Drug courier takes prison deal

BULLHEAD CITY – A drug mule from Bullhead City pleaded guilty and went straight to jail Tuesday, willfully skipping the 30-day period that usually elapses before sentencing. Amanda Boone, 37, told Mohave County judge Doug Camacho she prefers to start serving time to get it over with as soon as possible. Judge Camacho imposed the five-year prison term mandated in the plea agreement. Several charges in two criminal cases were dismissed in exchange for Boone’s conviction on a transportation of danger drugs for sale charge.
