Grogan prison return imminent

BULLHEAD CITY – A Bullhead City woman whose young daughter was murdered by a family friend nine years ago is likely returning to the Arizona Department of Corrections to serve another multiple-year prison term. Tania Grogan, 38, entered a plea deal on Nov. 28 that would require Mohave County Superior Court Judge Lee Jantzen to order an eight-year prison term for transporting narcotic drugs for sale. Drugs have permeated years of tragedy for Grogan, whose eight-year-old daughter Isabella Grogan-Canella was asphyxiated by Justin Rector and buried in a shallow grave in Sept., 2014. West charged with child abuse, assault

KINGMAN – On Sunday, November 26, at the Kingman Police Department (KPD) arrested David Scott West, 61, of Kingman on the felony charges of kidnapping, aggravated assault, unlawful imprisonment and child abuse.  According to a KPD press release, officers responded to the 2800 block of Ross Avenue for a report of child abuse that had occurred on November 25 at a residence in the 600 block of S. Fourth St. Upon arrival officers learned that West had physically restrained a 15-year-old juvenile that is in his custody and struck the juvenile approximately 30 times with a belt and other objects.  Officers later located West at…

Vaughan convicted of sex offenses

KINGMAN – A Kingman man convicted of sex offenses involving young males faces life behind bars. Deputy Mohave County Attorney Amanda Claerhout says tough punishment under Arizona law requires imposition of mandatory life terms plus additional years in prison for 28-year-old Alexander Vaughan. A Mohave County Superior Court jury deliberated more than three hours last Thursday and Friday before finding Vaughan guilty of six counts of sexual conduct with a minor. Traffic stop nets 4,000 fentanyl pills

KINGMAN – The Kingman police department reports a significant drug seizure following a Nov. 28 traffic stop. Deputy police chief Joel Freed said officers conducting traffic enforcement on westbound Interstate 40 pulled over a van after observing it being in an erratic manner and nearly colliding with another vehicle at mile post 56 at about 6:15 p.m. Officers reportedly made contact with the driver, Robert Romero, 45, and his passenger Andrew Harrison, 45, both of Kingman.
