Statewide Nevada gaming up; Laughlin holding its own

The Nevada Gaming Control Board has posted numbers for the final month of 2019. And the statewide gaming gain was much better than a smaller increase enjoyed by casinos along the Colorado River in Laughlin. Laughlin clubs earned a December gaming win of about $33 million, up 1.1% from the same month in 2018. A statewide gaming win just above $1-  in December represented a gain of almost 6% from the same month the previous year.

BOS approves Oatman enterprise, filming at Hualapai Mountain Park

MOHAVE COUNTY – Mohave County Supervisors approved rezoning for a commercial endeavor in Oatman and handled a number of other items during a Monday Board meeting that stretched almost 3.5 hours. A number of Oatman merchants oppose New Mexico businessman Tim McCarthy’s plan to offer western flavored activity just outside the historic mining town. Some complained McCarthy will duplicate what’s already offered in Oatman to the detriment of established businesses while others expressed concern about adequate water supply and public safety resources.
