Echoes of Childhood: Free concert Saturday

KINGMAN – Sunday, March 8, at 3:00 p.m., at Kingman a Presbyterian Church (2425 Detroit Ave), Kingman Concert Band will be in concert, performance titled, “Echoes of Childhood.” The 75 minute performance is free and open to the public and will feature a variety of selections taking the audience back to their youth. “The Kingman Concert Band has provided free performances to the greater Kingman area for over twenty years. KINGMAN – Saturday and Sunday , February 29- March 1, a Tristate Women’s Expo was held a the Mohave Fairgrounds. The event had more than 90 vendors participating this year. Of all the vendors, there were: Cosmetic Facial Tattooing, Color Street, Oasis Day Spa, Ashley’s Tu-Tully Cute Boutique, Baby Meets World 3D/4D Ultrasound Studio, Sweet Peas Photography, Hidden Treasures and many more. US Department of Treasury Scam

KINGMAN – The Kingman Police Department is investigating a scam that resulted in a Kingman couple being scammed out of hundreds of thousands of dollars. In this scam the suspect arrived at the victim’s home, dressed in business attire, pretending to be from the US Department of Treasury. Over the course of several days and several transactions the couple provided several hundred thousand dollars to the scammer. KPD detectives are investigating. The suspect information is limited. KINGMAN – Saturday, February 29, Chris Brady along with the Low Cost Spay/Neuter Foundation, hosted its 6th Annual Mangy Mutt 5K Walk/Run at the KRMC Hualapai Mountain Campus. Kingman mayoral terms will be put to a vote

KINGMAN – The Kingman City Council voted March 3 to place two questions on the August 4 primary election ballot. One proposal would double from two to four years the length of the term of office served by the City’s mayor. City Manager Ron Foggin said most municipalities use a four year format for mayor. He said mayors can be distracted from their public service duties when they have to seek re-election every two years.
