Remains identified as missing couple

NORTH MOHAVE COUNTY – Positive identification has been made involving a second set of human remains in what began as a missing persons investigation in north Mohave County. It was January 2018 when the Mohave County Sheriff’s office began checking into the disappearance of David and Susan McFalls, both 62. The McFalls had homes in Littlefield as well as in West Jordan, Utah. Early court records indicated the sheriff’s office was conducting a possible murder investigation, though the agency later labeled it as a death investigation. Grand Canyon National Park Announces 2021 Noncommercial River Trip Lottery Period

The National Park Service will begin accepting applications for noncommercial river trip permits to raft the Colorado River through Grand Canyon National Park on Saturday, Feb. 1, 2020. The permits are for specific launch dates within calendar year 2021. A total of 462 permits will be available for 12- to 25-day river trips. Eligible individuals may apply online at the weighted lottery website at: https://grcariverpermits.nps.gov. Applications will be accepted online through noon MST on Tuesday, Feb. 25. Valley boy found dead; possible quadding accident

GOLDEN VALLEY – The body of a Golden Valley boy was discovered Thursday, about 2.5 hours after he was reported missing. The Mohave County Sheriff’s Office said it appears that nine-year-old Alexander Lee was fatally injured in an accident involving a Yamaha 600 quad. Spokeswoman Anita Mortensen said the sheriff’s office learned at 6:45 p.m. that Lee had last been seen riding the quad around noon in the area of Dewey and Agua Fria in Golden Valley. “Searchers canvased the area and at approximately 9:15 p.m., the child was located in a wash near Estrella Road and Chino Drive,” Mortensen…
