GOLDEN VALLEY – The Golden Valley Fire District Board of Directors is seeking a qualified applicant to fill a vacancy on the Fire Board.  Interim Board Member term will be from the date of appointment until December 1, 2022. BULLHEAD CITY – January 28  through January 31, 150 participants from around the country gathered in Bullhead City, attending the Arizona Fire and Burn Educators Association (AFBEA) annual Risk Reduction through Education and Characterization Conference. The Mohave County Military Vehicle Group will be at the Mohave County Fairgrounds for Murphy’s Gun Show on Saturday and Sunday, Feb. 8 and 9  from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday and 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Sunday! Statewide Nevada gaming up; Laughlin holding its own

The Nevada Gaming Control Board has posted numbers for the final month of 2019. And the statewide gaming gain was much better than a smaller increase enjoyed by casinos along the Colorado River in Laughlin. Laughlin clubs earned a December gaming win of about $33 million, up 1.1% from the same month in 2018. A statewide gaming win just above $1-  in December represented a gain of almost 6% from the same month the previous year.

USDA invests $1.6 million in Wecom’s broadband project

GOLDEN VALLEY – The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) Rural Development Arizona State Director Jack R. Smith has announced USDA has invested $1.6 million in Wecom’s high-speed broadband infrastructure project. “Through USDA’s ReConnect Program, more than 1,400 Arizonians living in rural communities will get access to the latest broadband technology that will connect them to opportunities in education, health care and economic development…” Smith said.
