MOHAVE COUNTY – Mohave Community College is making the job search, and finding the right candidate, a-whole-lot easier and free from the comfort of your own home. The college has been hosting monthly orientations, help sessions and testing to assist community members in mastering seven core skills that employers say they want employees to have, and that comprise Governor Doug Ducey’s Arizona Career Readiness Credential (ACRC). AZGFD biologists document first bald eagle nest in saguaro cactus

It has long been speculated that bald eagles could utilize saguaro cacti as nesting sites. Now the Arizona Game and Fish Department (AZGFD) has documented proof. During recent eagle survey flights conducted by the department, officials were delighted to discover a pair of bald eagles with eaglets nesting in the arms of a large saguaro near a central Arizona reservoir. According to  Kenneth “Tuk” Jacobson, AZGFD’s raptor management coordinator, biologists searched historical records in the 1970s for bald eagle nesting sites in Arizona. Bullhead Elementary reminds students, parents that grading remains in place for spring semester

BULLHEAD CITY – Bullhead City Elementary School District Superintendent Carolyn Stewart has reminded students up to and including those in the eighth grade that distance learning during school closure includes grading.  She responded to concerns that some students have stopped taking their online classes, particularly in junior high school. “We’ve had a great response from students and parents who receive classroom materials through printed packets dropped off by school bus in neighborhoods,” Stewart said.  “But some of those with adequate computer and internet access at home have simply stopped doing their classwork.  And this could affect their ability to be…

KINGMAN – The Kino Avenue Waterline Project updated closure is currently at the Morrow Avenue and North Glen Road intersection, and also Plaza Drive from Morrow Ave. to Khan Dr. will be closed until April 24, barring any weather delays. The contractor, Freiday Construction, is working with residents in the area regarding notification, but no water service delays or disruptions are scheduled to take place. COVID-19: Mohave County finishes the day at 51 confirmed cases

MOHAVE COUNTY (April 15, 2020) – The Mohave County Health Department MCDPH-Nursing staff was notified this afternoon of another positive COVID-19 case in the Kingman service area. This individual is in the 20-44 age range, is in isolation and is recovering at home. Nurses will initiate the contact investigation soon; At this time it cannot be determined if the case is epidemiologically-linked to another case or travel-related.
