Fire Hogs host Don Shawver Memorial Ride 

LAKE HAVASU CITY – The San Gabriel Fire Valley Department (SGVDF), is bringing firefighter cancer awareness to Lake Havasu City with their Fire Hogs Motorcycle Club Don Shawver Memorial Ride (SGVDF) on Friday and Saturday, Oct. 27 and 28. Don Shawver was a retired firefighter with the Arcadia Fire Department. Shawver passed away due to job-related cancer.  He had a love of motorcycles and the Shawver family along with the San Gabriel Valley Fire Hogs, came together to put together a memorial ride.    SGVDF Fire Hogs MC is made up of fire departments in the San Gabriel Valley area. Their members bring enjoyment…

October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month, and the Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA) program and the Foster Care Review Board of Arizona (FCRB) are encouraging the community to act now and help raise awareness about its impact on individuals, communities, and children and families. The effects of domestic violence are far-reaching and not just for the partners involved but also for the children who may witness it.
