Milemarkers celebrates new location with grand opening

LAKE HAVASU CITY – Since 2007, the Milemarkers team has made a lasting impact with the services they provide for children and adults with disabilities. On Thursday, February 1, the proud owners celebrated the grand opening for their new location in Lake Havasu. Their event kicked off with a ribbon cutting ceremony with the assistance of Chamber of Commerce members, Cassie O’Hara and Theresa Crowell.  From 6:30 to 8 p.m., the company provided tours and information about their organization.  The new location will be 5601 Hwy. 95, Suite C-308 at the Shops of Lake Havasu mall. Expect delays at Parker Dam

PARKER – The Bureau of Reclamation reports that repair activity on Parker Dam Road could cause brief traffic for almost two months. During construction, traffic may be limited to one-lane and drivers may experience intermittent delays from 6 p.m. to 4:30 a.m. Mountain Standard Time (MST).  Local police, fire, and emergency medical services will have priority passage throughout the rehabilitation project area during construction activity. Motorists are advised to use extra caution when traveling on Parker Dam Road during this period and anticipate up to 30-minute traffic delays.  Construction activities, including paving and roadbed rehabilitation, will be in parking lots…

LAKE HAVASU CITY – The county’s Lake Havasu City library branch will be hosting “Welcome to the Metaverse: Exploring Virtual Reality”, Thursday, February 8, at 3:30 p.m. in the Community Room B.   This free program is open to teens aged 13-18 years.  Funding for it and equipment was made possible by a State Grant-In-Aid (SGIA) through the Arizona State Library. Reduced water releases at Davis Dam today

Due to recent rainstorms and lower than expected water demand in southern California and Arizona, the Bureau of Reclamation is temporarily reducing water releases from Davis Dam, north of Laughlin, Nevada, on the lower Colorado River. The lower releases are necessary to maintain a safe water surface elevation at Lake Havasu. Beginning Friday, Feb. 2, hourly releases from Davis Dam, will be reduced to approximately 2,300 cubic feet per second. These lower releases are scheduled from midnight through 8 a.m. Mountain Standard Time (MST) but may be extended depending on existing system conditions.
