Olson receives Masters Degree

Matthew Olson, a 2007 graduate of Kingman High School, received his Masters Degree in Agricultural Education from South Dakota State University. Olson received his Bachelors of Science Degree from the University of Arizona in 2013. He is currently employed by the University of Florida, as the Clay County 4-H Extension Agent. Matthew is the son of Gerald and Linda Olson of Kingman.

Moninger sentenced to 31 years in prison

A 31 year prison sentence was imposed Friday for a Las Vegas man convicted of intending to have sex with a 13-year-old girl who was actually a Mohave County Sheriff’s detective posing as “Sabrina” in an undercover investigation targeting men who prey upon minors. A trial jury convicted Kevin Moninger, 63, of attempted sexual conduct with a minor and three counts of luring a minor for sexual exploitation. Moninger answered an ad the detective placed on the internet Doublelist match site before the initial communication was diverted to text messages. Balluff arrested on multiple arson counts in connection to serial fires

A serial arson suspect dubbed the “Burning Bush Bandit” by law enforcement authorities was arrested in Kingman Tuesday. Deputy police chief Rusty Cooper said Charlie Lee Balluff, 39, Kingman, had been identified as a suspect and was under surveillance. Officers conducted a traffic stop on Dove Lane at 7:00 a.m. after Balluff drove from his home in the 3600 block of Bond Street. Cooper said Balluff was found to be in possession of a usable quantity of methamphetamine and that a subsequent search of his residence turned up evidence linking him to the arson spree. New fee structure for Arizona Recorders

Beginning July 1, 2019, a flat fee for recording documents in the State of Arizona will go into effect pursuant to Arizona Revised Statute §11-475, as amended by the Arizona State Legislature in 2018. The fee to record a document in the Mohave County Recorder’s office and throughout Arizona will become $30.00 per document. Bullhead commits funding action for bridge

A funding commitment action at the June 4 Bullhead City council meeting should kick start a bridge project that’s been stalled for months. Progress on the second bridge proposed to cross the Colorado River to Laughlin came to a halt late last year when some Nevada officials indicated Arizona should pay more for the project. City manager Toby Cotter said Bullhead City and Laughlin are both handling the cost on each side of the river of connecting the transportation network to the bridge.
