KINGMAN- Santa will be making a special trip to the Kingman Library Branch on Saturday, Dec. 21! The library’s Rhythm Band will be welcoming Kris Kringle with a holiday song. Santa will be reading a story and spreading Christmas cheer to all! Parents don’t forget your camera! Santa will be available for pictures. Members of the Mohave County 4-H Interstate Exchange Club played Santa’s elves recently to help with the Senior Angel Tree at the Kingman City Complex and also the Children Angel Tree at Kingman Regional Medical Center. The 4-H Exchange Club members and leaders spent an afternoon shopping to fulfill the wishes and needs of 25 seniors and children, which included three new bicycles and lots of shoes and toys. The shopping spree was made possible by a donation from Dwayne Patterson, Re/Max Prestige Property Realty.

It started decades ago with names being scribbled on small pieces of paper, inserted into empty capsules and then deposited into a container from which the lucky few would be drawn, often by a youngster chosen from the crowd in the State Capitol Annex Building. Over the years, actual paper applications would be dumped into a raffle ticket drum and given a spin under the guidance of law enforcement officials — and under the watchful eye of hopeful hunters who would be packed into the annex building’s rotunda. Eventually, applications could be mailed or dropped off at any department office…
KINGMAN – The 2020 Kingman Women Making History has been scheduled for Sunday March 1 at the Mohave Museum of History and Arts. This year’s theme is Valiant Women of the Vote. As in the past, the 36th annual award ceremony will honor outstanding women in the Kingman community. This event is held in conjunction with the National Women’s History Month which focuses on the rich and inspiring heritage of women’s contributions. MOHAVE COUNTY – An open house has been scheduled to help inform the owners of hundreds of property parcels that may be impacted by updated flood maps proposed for portions of South Mohave Valley and Fort Mojave Tribal lands. The January 30 open house that runs from 12:00 to 6:00 p.m. will take place at River Valley High School, located at 2250 Laguna Road.
