Phi Theta Kappa inducts new members

The Mohave Community College Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society recently inducted new members for Fall 2019. Phi Theta Kappa’s mission is to recognize and encourage scholarship among two-year college students by providing an opportunity for leadership, service, and development. Porter painting collection on display at open house

KINGMAN – The Mohave Museum of History and Arts will host an open house featuring the “William Porter Native American Paintings Collection” on Saturday, Nov. 2 from 6 to 9 p.m. Mr. Porter passed away on Aug. 14, and gift the museum with his collection. Porter was a 40-year museum board member, past president of the museum board, Arizona Historical Society board member, the Heidenreich Society board member, along with many more accomplishments. KINGMAN – Veterans and their families are invited to join White Cliffs Senior Living for their Veterans Day Wall Dedication on Monday, Nov. 11 from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Lunch will be served from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. with an RSVP. Quail Ridge fire update

LAKE HAVASU CITY – Shortly after noon yesterday Oct. 24, a vegetation fire was reported in the area near Mesquite Bay Fishing Pier (just north of Palo Verde N). The strong winds quickly drove a surface fire to the south along the water’s edge, producing heavy smoke in the area. The fire department established structure protection in the Quail Ridge development and allowed the fire to progress with the wind. Smoke conditions also caused concerns in the Sailing Hawks development, but the area was protected by London Bridge Road. Units monitored the fire along the road and allowed it to…
