Firefighter’s Park hosts JAVC car show

KINGMAN – Roll into Firefighter’s Memorial Park, 2201 Detroit Ave, Monday, Sept. 2 between 10 a.m. and 3 p.m. for the JAVC car show.  Come swing by and listen to music by DJ Don and Tina West. There will be food, vendors, auto parts swap meet, awards, door prizes, 50/50, and raffle prizes. There will also be dash plaques and goodie bags for the first 100 entries. Lake Mead roads to receive around $5 million in improvements

BOULDER CITY – A nearly $5 million pavement preservation project has begun at Lake Mead National Recreation Area to improve roads within the 1.5 million-acre park. The project will include cleaning, patching, resurfacing and re-marking around 75 miles of roads and parking areas from the northern end of the park to Willow Beach. Once completed, it will enhance the visitor experience and meet the park’s maintenance needs. The work is scheduled to take place during daylight hours on weekdays through mid-December. During construction, visitors may experience short delays along the roadways, and parking areas may be closed for a limited time….

Bullhead City celebrates 35-year milestone

Happy birthday Bullhead City! The Colorado River community that was incorporated on August 28, 1984 is celebrating its 35-year milestone. “We tried incorporation three times and it failed the first two times and it wasn’t until the third time that it passed (by voters),” said Mayor Tom Brady, who moved to Bullhead City in 1982. “I remember when I first got here we had one traffic light in town and that was at Highway 95 and Hancock.” City Manager Toby Cotter told Council members during their meeting last week that cake and ice cream would be provided in the lobby…

Dove season outlook: Expect plenty of birds

Opening day is Sunday, Sept. 1  Arizona’s skies are expected to be filled with flight after flight of doves when the 2019 season gets underway Sept. 1.
