School board seats up for grabs

MOHAVE COUNTY – Governing board seats will be up for grabs in various school districts in Mohave County in non-partisan election contests to be conducted on November 3. Prospective candidates can pick up information packets at the Mohave County School Superintendent’s Office in Kingman beginning on January 2.

Interested parties can also download the same information by accessing the county website at www.mohavecounty.us, finding the Superintendent’s tab under “Departments” and clicking on the School Board Candidate information button. Those who wish to run for office have until either July 7 or August 4 to collect and submit nominating petitions to qualify their candidacies.

Most of the school districts will be filling more than one governing board seats in the general election. Opportunities to serve occur in the following school districts:

Kingman Unified, Lake Havasu Unified, Peach Springs Unified, Colorado River Union High School, Bullhead City Elementary, Mohave Valley Elementary, Topock Elementary, Hackberry Elementary, Valentine Elementary, Owens Whitney Elementary, Yucca Elementary and Regions 1, 2 and 3 in the Western Arizona Vocation Education District.
