KINGMAN – The Kingman City Council at their Dec. 17 meeting addressed filling vacancies for the Clean City, Planning & Zoning, PARG, and Transit Advisory Commissions. Mike Blair was appointed to a seat on the Historic Preservation Commission. The commission currently has a second seat that remains vacant. Clean City Commissioners C. MOHAVE COUNTY – The Mohave County Sheriff’s Office would like to introduce their two newest deputies who graduated from the Western Arizona Law Enforcement Training Academy on Friday, Dec. 13. Laurel Holdway and Joshua Bare completed a 20-week academy where they gained knowledge in criminal and traffic law, criminal investigation, defensive tactics, and much more. BULLHEAD CITY – Vacant Planning & Zoning Commission seats was addressed at the Dec. 17 Bullhead City Council meeting. The commission currently has two vacancies and one potential appointee, Aaron Lopez. Lopez was scheduled to speak about his appointment but did not because of his involvement in a championship softball game. In Lopez’ absence, the council approved his appointment unanimously. BULLHEAD CITY – At the Dec. 17 Bullhead City’s City Council meeting an $88,000 odor control system was approved for purchase. The EG-8.2T Duage Biotrickling Odor Control System will be installed near Lakeside Dr., to help with odor caused by sewer waste. Signage was also discussed to discourage the public from encouraging panhandlers in the Bullhead City area. Passive panhandling has been ruled by state and federal courts to be protected free speech.
