Kino Avenue waterline project to start

KINGMAN – A project to install a new water transmission main on Kino Ave., between the Mohave Wash and Stockton Hill Road begins February 10. The first closure to take place will be Kino Ave. at the Mohave Channel to Walleck Ranch Dr. and should last three weeks. Portions of Kino Ave., North Glen Rd., Morrow Ave., Plaza Drive, and Khan Ave. will be closed throughout the project. Detours will be in place for street closures.

The contractor, Freiday Construction, is working with residents in the area regarding notification, but no water service delays or disruptions are scheduled to take place.

This project is the continuation of a multi-phased project to improve water delivery to city water storage tanks that will allow the infrastructure run more efficiently, resulting in an overall benefit to our customers. The total cost for the project is $1.51 million.

The project should last roughly 90 days, over multiple phases for line installation and pavement patching, barring any weather delays

Up-to-date street closures will be located on the City of Kingman’s engineering website page of interactive Maps through the city’s Geographic Information Systems (GIS): https://www.cityofkingman.gov/government/departments/engineering/gis.
