New retail shop hosts grand opening

KINGMAN – New Finds & Consigns is a newly opened store in Kingman. Owners Mike and Teri Hodgkin opened the retail shop July 1, and are located at 710 Eastern Ave, Suite H. The store accepts only higher end items for consignment. They offer furniture to knick-knacks, handcrafted jewelry, woodwork, crochet and farmhouse style items as well as hard-to-find imported snacks Hours are 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily. They will be holding a grand opening the weekend of August 20 – 22.

Miles plans re-election bid

KINGMAN – Kingman mayor Jen Miles and her Bullhead City counterpart Tom Brady have different plans when their current terms of office expire late next year. Mayor Brady has said he’ll retire from politics while Miles said she fully intends to seek a third, 2-year term as mayor of Kingman. “I intend to seek re-election,” Miles said Wednesday. She said no hardcore commitment is yet necessary because she said Kingman municipal office-seekers can’t begin circulating nominating petitions until January. State Route 68 raised median construction in Golden Valley begins Aug. 16

Drivers should allow extra travel time and plan for delays  The Arizona Department of Transportation advises drivers to plan for overnight lane restrictions and intermittent closures on State Route 68 in Golden Valley near Kingman  for the construction of a raised median between Bacobi and Verde roads, beginning Monday, Aug. 16. The project is scheduled to be completed in the fall. Work will begin at Bacobi Road. Project work restrictions will occur overnight from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. Monday evenings through Friday mornings. MEC returns $1.66 million in capital credits to members

BULLHEAD CITY – Mohave Electric Cooperative’s Board of Directors has authorized a capital credits return of $1,667,557.52 to members in 2021. MEC members who had electric service in 1989, 2000, or 2020 will receive their share as a check if their share is $10.00 or more. If the share is less than $10.00, active service accounts will receive a bill credit on their August or early September bill cycle.
