KINGMAN – The City of Kingman and the Kingman Chamber of Commerce have teamed up to launch a Shop Local Kingman campaign. This campaign, paid for by the City Economic Development Department and coordinated by the Kingman Chamber of Commerce, is to encourage the community to support local, small businesses by shopping and dining locally. The Shop Local Kingman campaign began on September 27, and will end on Small Business Saturday, November 28. Speaking at Kingman Route 66 Rotary Club’s October 16 meeting was Pat Farrell, President of Jerry Ambrose Veterans Council. Farrell addressed the group on the 25-unit transitional housing program for military veterans near completion at 315 Oak Street. He thanked the club for their $4,000 donation to acquire mailboxes for the facility.

MOHAVE COUNTY – The pandemic is taking a toll on the people of Mohave County. Sheriff Doug Schuster delivered that message emphatically during Monday’s Board of Supervisors meeting in Kingman. “We are now seeing the end game of the lock downs, of the masks,” Schuster said. “Our suicide rates are extreme compared to where they were this time last year. Our domestic violence is extreme.
