Kingman Shop Local campaign kicks off

KINGMAN – The City of Kingman and the Kingman Chamber of Commerce have teamed up to launch a Shop Local Kingman campaign. This campaign, paid for by the City Economic Development Department and coordinated by the Kingman Chamber of Commerce, is to encourage the community to support local, small businesses by shopping and dining locally. The Shop Local Kingman campaign began on September 27, and will end on Small Business Saturday, November 28. Sheriff Schuster weighs in on COVID issues

MOHAVE COUNTY – The pandemic is taking a toll on the people of Mohave County. Sheriff Doug Schuster delivered that message emphatically during Monday’s Board of Supervisors meeting in Kingman. “We are now seeing the end game of the lock downs, of the masks,” Schuster said. “Our suicide rates are extreme compared to where they were this time last year. Our domestic violence is extreme. WHITE HILLS – Scores of turbines have been erected where a utility-scale wind farm is expected to begin producing power before the end of the year near the rural town of White Hills, about 40 miles north of Kingman. Next Era Energy spokeswoman Lisa Paul said the 350-megawatt wind farm will begin generating electricity sometime in Dec. Paul said more than half of the 126 turbines had been assembled and positioned by early Oct. where the project is being developed on more than 24,000-acres of public land administered by the Bureau of Land Management.
