Marijuana legalization advocate Mikel Weisser died about six months before Arizona voters made his dream come true. Northwest Arizona residents can enjoy marijuana, in certain circumstances, without fear of prosecution. The Mohave County Attorney’s office moved quickly to relax its pot prosecution policies after roughly 60% of the state and local electorate approved Prop. 207 and recreational marijuana use in the Nov. 3 general election. “We are not waiting for the effective date but are acting immediately, as if Prop. 207 is the law as of election night as it allows charges to be expunged that occurred prior to the effective date,” said deputy county attorney James Schoppmann. Kingman Airport: Hays alleges fund diversion

KINGMAN – Carl Hays has alleged illegal diversion of Kingman Airport revenue as he resigned his position as member and Chairman of the Kingman Airport Advisory Commission. Hays’ Oct. 28 resignation letter came after he previously sided with exiting Airport Manager Steve Johnston while criticizing management and leadership at City Hall. City manager Ron Foggin fired back last month claiming that Hays was overstepping his advisory role as a commissioner and improperly involving himself in airport operations.
