KINGMAN – There will be a special ribbon cutting ceremony for the new Kingman Veteran Villas (2501 Veteran Way, off Hualapai Mountain Rd & Jackson) Wednesday, July 7 at 1:30pm. Virlynn Tinnell receives 2021 Administration of Justice Award

KINGMAN – During the recent Judicial Conference the Arizona Supreme Court presented retired Mohave County Clerk of the Court, Virlynn Tinnell, with its 2021 Administration of Justice Award.  Virlynn served as the Clerk of the Superior Court from 1999 until her retirement in April 2021 when she was appointed as the Cerbat Justice of the Peace by the Mohave County Board of Supervisors.     During her tenure as Clerk, Virlynn actively participated on several State-wide committees and served as a director with the National Association for Court Management.  Virlynn’ s efforts to help improve court operations include the implementation of…

Permissible fireworks spark fire

BULLHEAD CITY – At approximately 4:00 p.m. Thursday, July 1, Bullhead City Fire Department (BHCFD) crews were dispatched to the Motel 6 located at 1081 Hwy. 95 for a reported commercial structure fire. According to a BHCFD spokesperson, a small shed was on fire at the north end of the structure.  Fire crews were able to quickly extinguish the fire, keeping it from spreading to the hotel.  Fire investigators responded to the scene finding an array of permissible fireworks covering the immediate area. CRUHSD receives five-year accreditation

BULLHEAD CITY – For the second time in five years, the Colorado River Union High School District has been awarded accreditation by the North Central Association Commission on Accreditation and School Improvement (NCA CASI), the Northwest Accreditation Commission (NWAC) and the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Council on Accreditation and School Improvement (SACS CASI). The three regional agencies provide accreditation that is recognized throughout the world. All three CRUHSD schools are included: Mohave, River Valley and CRUHSD Academy High schools.  Prior to the first accreditation, only Mohave and River Valley were accredited separately, not under one district umbrella.
