KINGMAN – A plan transitioning the 72-acre Fairgrounds campus operation in Kingman to Mohave County control was approved during Monday’s Board of Supervisors meeting. Public Works Director Steve Latoski told the Board that the county will post three new staff positions to support county operation of facilities currently managed by a Fair Association in a lease that will not be renewed at the end of the year. MOHAVE COUNTY – State Representative Regina Cobb was named 2021 Legislator of the Year by the Arizona Retailers Association (ARA) at its annual awards event on Friday, October 15. KINGMAN – A proposal to split the Northern Arizona Fire District (NAFD) was snuffed at Monday’s Mohave County Board of Supervisors meeting. The board voted to deny an impact statement, effectively stopping the process and a request by proponents to gather petition signatures to seek voter approval of carving Valle Vista, Hackberry and Valentine out of the NAFD.
