Community meeting slated for new transitional housing facility

KINGMAN – Some citizens are expressing concern as Catholic Charities of Arizona plans to renovate a dilapidated motel property to operate as a transitional housing facility in Kingman. The organization secured a $4.5-million grant to purchase and rehabilitate the Route 66 Motel located at 2939 E. KINGMAN – A workplace fatality recently occurred at the Kingman Airport Industrial Park, but information is pretty scarce beyond that. The Occupational Health and Safety Administration (OSHA) confirms it is investigating the fatality on Fed-Ex property on Tuesday, Nov. 14. OSHA spokesman Trevor Laky said he can provide no information other than it is investigating the incident. Spokesman Anita Mortensen said one or more members of the Mohave County Sheriff’s Office were dispatched to the airport, but deferred all questions to OSHA. Acting Chief Don Dallman said Northern Arizona Fire District personnel responded to a call at 2:34 p.m., but…

BOULDER CITY, Nev.–Beginning January 1, 2024, Lake Mead National Recreation Area will transition to a cashless fee collection system, accepting only electronic card payments for entrance, lake use, and campground fees. Entrance stations will continue to sell passes but will no longer accept cash for payment.  The transition to cashless fee collection will align this park with twenty-nine other National Park Service locations, such as Bryce Canyon, Grand Canyon, and the Petrified Forest. The new process will also enable more efficient, cost-effective operations.  Advance campground reservations, as well as first-come, first-served sites, will be available online only through recreation.gov.
