YUCCA – A deadly fire in the community of Yucca is under investigation by the Mohave County Sheriff’s Office (MCSO). Dispatch received a call reporting the fire in the 1700 block of La Cienega Ranch Rd. at about 8:13 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 27. “Deputies arrived on scene and observed two sheds fully engulfed by flames,” said MCSO public information officer Anita Mortensen. “Personnel from the Golden Valley Fire District responded to the scene and after the fire was extinguished, a deceased victim was located in one of the sheds.” Mortensen said the female homeowner advised that her male roommate…

KINGMAN – An Officer Involved Shooting (OIS) incident unfolded in Kingman on Friday, Dec. 29. Deputy Kingman police chief Joel Freed said officers responded at about 7:40 p.m. to a report that domestic violence had occurred in a home in the 1700 block of Golden Gate Ave. “While officers were arriving, Andrew Philip Romero, 39, Kingman, exited the residence with a firearm, refused to drop it and pointed the firearm towards officers,” Freed said. “An officer fired their weapon striking Romero.” Freed said Romero received medical attention on scene and was transported to Kingman Regional Medical Center before he was…
