Many area restaurants set to re-open on Monday

MOHAVE COUNTY – Restaurants meeting certain criteria can welcome dine-in customers once again starting next Monday. There are many unanswered questions regarding whether customers are ready to return and which eateries will open or remain closed. “Some people are very excited to be opened again and some people are a little hesitant so I think it’s just going to depend on the restaurant owner and how they want to handle it,” said Becky Fawson, Executive Director for the Kingman Area Chamber of Commerce. “We’re getting out visiting places and making calls to find out who’s opening.” Fawson said the Chamber…

God bless America

Dear Editor, As the Covid-19 pandemic and social distancing continues, I’m amazed how everything is blamed on our president. Where can we draw the line? Is it really…

Covid-19 and Mother’s Day

Dear Editor, I wish mom were still here so I could take her out to Sunday dinner. The problem with Sunday dinner this Mother’s Day is that most of the restaurants either won’t be open yet or operating under new guidelines. Restaurants make their biggest payday of the year typically on Mother’s Day. Even in states that are wide open for dining there is the problem of social distancing. Can you imagine this week going to a restaurant that only is allowed 25% occupancy or maybe 50% occupancy at best? Many states will still be closed tight this Sunday adding…

Culver’s Restaurant coming to Kingman

KINGMAN – Culver’s is coming to Kingman! The Wisconsin-based restaurant chain with more than 700 stores should be open on Airway Avenue, just east of the Cracker Barrel, before the end of the year. McCON Building Corporation intends to submit building plans with the City of Kingman soon and begin construction sometime next month. “If we start in June we’re going to try to be turning it over to the owner 20 weeks later, so it’s going to probably be finished by the end of October, first part of November. Somewhere in that area,” said Project manager Kenny Esser. “Back…
