KINGMAN – Culver’s is coming to Kingman! The Wisconsin-based restaurant chain with more than 700 stores should be open on Airway Avenue, just east of the Cracker Barrel, before the end of the year.
McCON Building Corporation intends to submit building plans with the City of Kingman soon and begin construction sometime next month.
“If we start in June we’re going to try to be turning it over to the owner 20 weeks later, so it’s going to probably be finished by the end of October, first part of November. Somewhere in that area,” said Project manager Kenny Esser. “Back in Wisconsin everybody knows Culver’s. It’s like McDonald’s. Every town has one or two or three.”
Kingman resident Gordon Streeter will own and operate the store in partnership with Jeff Hungerford, who has Culver’s outlets in Peoria and Chandler. Hungerford said the Kingman store will likely total about 4,500 square feet and seat about 120 customers.
Hungerford said the company that was founded in 1984 favors smaller towns and that Culver’s has done very well in the communities of Bullhead City, Lake Havasu, Prescott Valley and Flagstaff.
McCCON handles new construction and remodel for Culver’s across the nation. Esser says they employ the same formula at each store.
“As you walk in you’re going to order your food. You’re going to take a number. You’re going to find a seat and they’re going to bring your food to you,” Esser said. “They’re going to serve anywhere from chicken to hamburgers to fish, those types of meals, along with custard.”
Food quality and customer service are important ingredients, according to the Culver’s website.
“We always use fresh, never frozen beef and whole, white meat chicken from America’s family farms,” the website stated. “We make a point of treating you like you want to be treated. From holding a door to asking about your meal, it’s our pleasure to serve you and we do it with a smile.”
